Hey guys,
Wanted to give you a quick update on two things:
1) I just got back from Washington late last night, and had a great time meeting with the Greenville TEA Party in downtown Greenville. We talked about immigration, foreign aid, ObamaCare, energy, and the NSA. For those of you who may have missed it, we had a passionate debate on the House floor this week to place restrictions on what information the NSA is allowed to gather on American citizens. I was only given 15 seconds to speak during the debate, but I used that time to bring up a very important point: the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution. While I’m sad that the amendment that would have restricted the NSA failed by a vote of 217-205, I’m proud to report that all seven SC Congressmen voted in favor of protecting Constitutional freedoms and to restrict the NSA.
2) I also wanted to let you know that as of today we’re just one month away from our Third Annual Faith in Freedom BBQ in Anderson. The response so far has been overwhelming, and I’ve heard from hundreds of you already who can’t wait to enjoy fellowship and some time with our new US Senator Tim Scott. I also wanted to give you a heads up that we have a very special guest that will also be in attendance who we’ll be announcing very soon! So if you want to attend the event, I would recommend going ahead and RSVPing to Drea Byars right away.
The suggested donation for the event is $35 a person or $60 a couple, and we also need people to be willing to sponsor.
There are two ways to sponsor: You can contact Drea Byars (dreabyars67@gmail.com) to get more details about sponsoring, or you can give us the names of eight people that you’re bringing with you to the event!
We’ll be announcing our special guest on Sunday, so please get back to us soon with an RSVP or risk not being able to get a ticket. I promise you, you won’t want to miss this!!
All the details for the event are below, and as always thanks for your prayers and support.
