BRYAN, Texas, November 10, 2009  –  A district court judge has denied Planned Parenthood’s request for a gag order against Abby Johnson, the former director of a Houston-area Planned Parenthood abortion facility who quit her job following a conversion experience.

…”You are in constant spiritual turmoil when you work in the abortion industry,” said Johnson, noting that, to a clinic worker, a pro-life vigil is “a constant reminder of the reality that you are doing.”  “Sometimes the clinic workers may act like they don’t hear you, they may never speak to you … but they can’t turn a deaf ear to what you’re saying,” she continued.  “You never know who you’re impacting.”

On Sunday, November 15th, our special guest will be Tony Eubanks, chaplain of the Clemson University Football team. He will speak at the family bible hour at 11 am at Concord Community Church on 620 Concord Rd. in Anderson. Here is a video from Buncombe Street United methodist Church.

Tony’s organization is called spiritual 2 a days.

I was honored by being seated among the veterans this morning at the Wren High School Veterans Day service.The band and chorus sang patriotic songs as the branches of the military were honored. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, & Coast Guard. The students displayed an enormous amount of respect and reverence.

The service included an explanation of the POW-MIA flag and table:

-The table is round – to show our everlasting concern for our men still missing.

-The cloth is white – symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to duty.

-The single red rose, displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing, and their loved ones and friends who keep the faith, awaiting answers.

-The vase is tied with a red ribbon, symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.

-A slice of lemon on the bread plate is to remind us of the bitter fate of those captured and missing in a foreign land.

-A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.

-The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God.

-The glass is inverted – to symbolize their inability to share this evening’s toast.

-The chairs are empty – they are missing.

I was honored to meet Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) at the Carolina Colosseum. Congressman Paul was greeted by over 1,000 supporters and fans. Many thanks to Mr. Matt Kneece for organizing this event.

Obviously, the topic on most people’s minds was the massive step towards socialism that Congress took on Saturday, the healthcare bill.

I’ve always been impressed with Dr. Paul because of his ability to apply constitutional principles to the proper role of government.

Governor Sanford Heralds Boeing Construction Jobs
UPSTATE GENERAL CONTRACTOR NAMED, WILL HIRE UP TO TWO THOUSAND

Columbia, S.C. – November 6, 2009 – Gov. Mark Sanford today issued the following statement on Boeing Company’s decision to use BE&K Building Group of Greenville as its general contractor to build the North Charleston facility for a second production line for the 787 Dreamliner.

“Today marks an expected but nonetheless exciting step in what we believe will be a long and indeed revolutionary partnership between Boeing and South Carolina,” said Gov. Mark Sanford. “Naming a general contractor sets into motion the hiring of potentially 2,000 construction jobs in the Lowcountry that will provide a much needed shot in the arm to our state’s employment situation and economy in general. More importantly, these jobs are immediate and not tied to incentives. These jobs will also mean Christmas for a whole host of families down that way – as this and other recent economic announcements at the most personal of levels connect an honest day’s work with the opportunity to boost one’s quality of life, and that of one’s family.

“It’s also telling that Boeing’s chosen general contractor is from the Upstate, providing further evidence that Boeing decision to land in North Charleston will have positive ripple effects throughout the state. And again, it’s worth recognizing all the players in the process – from Joe Taylor and his team at Commerce, to the legislative roles played by Sen. Leatherman and others, and of course the Boeing workers already on the job in North Charleston.
