Hello All,
I hope that you have had a wonderful Summer. I know that mine has been so full that it just flew by. My family was thankful to welcome our newest member, Christopher Ethan, on July 30th. He is, of course, handsome as can be (and Ma ma is NOT prejudice).
As we approach September, I want to bring you all up to speed as to what is taking place this Fall. We have a full and fun Fall planned. Please make every effort to support the activities that we have planned. I hope that many of you will email me back and let me know that you are ready to help with these activities.
We will begin with a “Cut the Pork” bbq at Omega Farms on September 12th. This should be a fun activity for the whole family. We will have great food, hay rides, good music and just a good time of fellowship. This will be a fundraiser for the Party so we will be charging a modest fee. The cost is $10 per person with kids under 6 eating for free.
September 21 will be our monthly meeting at Concord Community Church at 7 PM. We will have Ashley Landess of the South Carolina Policy Council as our special speaker. This should be an informative meeting. Please plan to attend.
October 19 we will have our monthly meeting at Concord Community Church at 7 PM. Bill Connor, candidate for Lt. Governor, has already asked if he can be with us at this meeting. I am sure that we will have more candidates joining as the time grows closer.
October 22 we will have our first golf tournament at Brookstone Meadows. This should be a great event and we need many volunteers to make it successful. Please contact myself or Craig Wooten(276-8867) to let us know what you can do to help with this event. This can be a major fundraiser for us if we do it right. Please make plans to help.
October 31 we will once again do our trunk or treat. This is a great way for us to reach out to the community. If the location I am hoping to secure works out, we should have a GREAT turn out and high visibility. We had a lot of fun with this last year and should have even more fun with it this year. Make plans now to pick up an extra bag or two of candy for the Party for this event. I really appreciate how generous our people always are.
November will be a little more low key since we are headed into the holidays. We will have our monthly meeting on the 16th at Concord Community Church. We will, however, have an emphasis during this month. I would like us to have a food drive and be able to help fill some of the food cupboards in Anderson. We all have MUCH to be thankful for, and can make Thanksgiving a little better for those less fortunate than we are. Details as to where to drop off the food will be sent out closer to the month of November.
December 6th will be a double duty day. We will have a float in the Anderson Christmas Parade as well as our Christmas Party at the home of Dr. Mark and Mrs. Anne Thayer. More will follow on these events as well.
I hope that you all are ready to jump back in and help with these events. Raising money will help us to elect conservative Republicans to office. Let’s all work together to get this done.
I am also proud to announce that we now have a permanent phone number for the ACRP! Our new number is 864.221.0154. This phone will be in the possession of an officer at all times.
For BBQ tickets, please call me (Liz Holmes) or Craig Wooten(276-8867). You can also reply to this email and I will be glad to help you with your tickets. More than anything else… bring someone with you!!
Remember that you can access any of this information by simply going to www.andersongop.org .
Have a GREAT week,
Liz Holmes, Chairman, Anderson County Republican Party
