Gene, come one! Do not confuse these folks with facts! Vitriol and polemic is all they understand (not the actual words “vitiol” and “polemic” though).
This is just more of the same types of lies and half-truths that were used to smear John Kerry (coward, traitor, faker), Max Cleland (faking war hero, “he . . . lost his limbs in a routine non-combat misssion”) and President Obama (Kenyan-born Anti-Christ).
It would be nice if reason and facts worked but these folks are not interested in reason, moderation, fair, balanced.
