pact meeting 10.09 @ 4:30 pm
This year the legislature eliminated PACT and gave the Department of Education the authority to define new testing standards. Educators & parents are invited to bring their suggestions and feedback for future testing. Our special guest will be Anderson’s representative on the State Board of Education Mr. Rick Adkins.
Thursday, October 9th at 4:30 pm at the Anderson County Republican Party Headquarters, 807 North Murray Avenue (accross from the Anderson Rec. Center)

What point is there to having any kind of testing done if the schools do not care enough about their teachers to even hire subs when they are absent and are making other teachers cover for them during their “planning time” or combining classes to already overloaded classes to cover for absent teachers. There has to be another way to cut the budget, get rid of some of the “fat” that is not even doing anything but drawing a big paycheck. We do not need new schools and all these “specialists”. Let’s get back to the basics and really teach what students need to learn. Cut out all these unnecessary trips to out of state meetings where they are wined and dined to learn “new” strategies of teaching that we already know. There is no need to have fun and games all the time and not teach the basics.
