Lee Cole: guest writer
I first met Mr. Lee Cole as a staff of the South Carolina Senate Judiciary, then as a regular contributor to the cocklebur blog. Lee is a young genius with a great conservative mind. As a law student in the University of South Carolina School of Law, I’m sure he’ll be a great student of the rule of law as well as a great conservative American!

Senator Bryant, I applaud your “testicular fortitude” in standing up for what you believe in and in staying true to your beliefs. Refreshing. Don’t ever change that.

So what did you think about Obama’s answer to the lady who asked him what he thought about pulling our troops in 19 months even after the General told him it wasn’t a good idea?….this is not a quote in any way! And his response was that if he was the General he would feel the same way, but he was a guy running for president and so he would be bringing them home. Does that mean that he will do what ever he has to do to get in office even if it’s not best for our country or another country? I thought that was what Bush has been accused of doing. I’m 100% behind you with your “satire.” This man is scary and wishy-washy. I live in Spartanburg, so I can’t vote for you, but I would if I could.

I can not believe voters elected this person as a Senator, I can not believe other Senators actually sit in same hall with him.
I wonder what kind of greeting Europe, Israel, Iraq leaders and the people would show this idiot? I wonder how our military personal serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and abroad regard this so called public servant? Shameful, complete racism, a disgrace to your State, your Country, the World Obama is trying to make USA a leader of again.

Senator Bryant,
Over the last couple of years, I have had the opportunity to meet with you and other legislators when I visited the State House.
I want to commend you for your steadfast devotion to your constituents’ best interest, regardless of the pressures of special interest groups and lobbyists.
Thank you for your courageous and effective leadership. Your stand for the rule of law, by supporting effective illegal immigration legislation in the last session, is greatly appreciated.
Every taxpaying, legal citizen of our state, owes you a debt of gratitude.
You have earned the respect of your peers in the South Carolina House and Senate.
Senator, you are an outstanding example of what an elected official should be. The citizens of Anderson are truly fortunate to have such an effective legislator represent their interests in Columbia.
I am very confident that your constituents will re-elect you to continue your effective representation and leadership on their behalf.

Lets hope the rational thinking people outweigh the shallow thinking ReCONs or we’re doomed to 4 more years of the same hell we’ve been in for the last eight…
No I don’t think Obama is a messiah (& I’m offended when RepubliCONs call him that)…but I do think he cares a lot more for the REAL everyday people than John (I don’t know how many houses I own) McCain. People who worry about how they’re going to afford getting back & forth to work this week with gas prices so high. Who have to buy generic more than name brands because their grocery bills have doubled in the last 8 years. The kind of people who buy their socks at Wal-mart and can’t REMOTELY imagine spending $300 G’s on an outfit!
Sorry, but I don’t want a reactionary, hot-tempered, war-hardened old man with 1 foot in the grave (who was caught singing “Bomb, bomb, Iran” on youtube) to have his finger on that red button at 3am. He’d probably push it just to go back to sleep! I want a man whose nature it is to intelligently think through a problem and approach it from all angles. Obama has the brains. Lets not forget that this man graduated from Harvard Law having been head of the Law Review. THE most prestigious position there is. AND he was the 1st black man to do it. McCain, by his own admission graduated 5th from the BOTTOM of his class in the Naval Academy. Not a candidate for Mensa to be sure. With all due respect, being a “POW” might have developed his character but it didn’t earn him a degree. And lets not overlook the fact that McCain has a well-known reputation of being nasty when he’s not agreed with. (again check out YouTube if you don’t believe me) No wonder Bill O’Reilly worships at his altar…He sees himself in McCain.
