visit to TL Hanna Physics Class

I enjoyed a visit to Ms. Jane Allen’s Physics class today at my alma mater T.L. Hanna High School. The lesson and lab on static & kinetic friction was a tad over my head, but I followed anyway. Ms. Allen gave me a clue that may challenge these bright young minds. Does the stretchiness in the fishing line factor in the equation?

This experience was reminiscent of my physics class back in ‘89 with the late Mr. Phaille (the name fits).

I’ll grant that physics (not physic) are slightly less important in your daily practice than organic chemistry, but the elasticity of your fishing line might have an incremental contribution to the equation.

We’ll hope that between static friction and gravity, opposition votes don’t quite make it past an analogue of the energy of activation to lead to nail biting in the next election cycle.

Mr. Faile, Mister Bates and Harry Pohl what a combination we had back in the day.

Hey, how many years did you fail Faile? If you were there in ‘89, that would put in the 12th grade for 5 years. Even Jethro could have finished quicker than that.
