CWP Reciprocity S. 3212
A few weeks ago Senate Judiciary passed S. 3212, legislation giving reciprocity to Concealed Weapon Permit holders from other states. I have a CWP from South Carolina but it is not recognized in Georgia. I also have a reciprocated New Hampshire License that Georgia does recognize. If this bill passes, a SC CWP would then be recognized in Georgia. Out of the 54,000 CWP’s that have been issued, none have been involved in a crime. This is about law abiding citizens protecting themselves.

When will someone demand that reciprocity is mandated under the interstate commerce clause as they will surely demand that we recognize the travesty of “gay marriages?”
CWPs I will grant are a far greater threat to the leftist’s house of cards than the sanctity of marriage is threatened by “gay marriages” (which IHMO is a, if gay marriages are mandated, a violation of teh establishment clause of the First Amendment.)
Aside from that it will be nice, one of these days, for State employees to have the full coverage of CWPs on state property.

I am huge second Amendment advocate, BUT this bill gives non-SC citizens more rights in S.C. than it does to S.C.’s own citizens. Why in the world should an 18, 19 or 20 year old from several of these states have the right to a CWP in S.C. when an S.C. citizen can’t get one until he or she is 18? Either drop the age on our CWP’s or quit standing up for the rights of other citizens in this state while you refuse to stand up for ours. Furthermore, you state this bill is about granting gun rights to law abiding citizens (which I am fine with) but until Sen. Knott amendment to go state by state, this bill would have again granted rights to citizens from states that DO NOT REQUIRE BACK GROUND checks to carry in S.C.??? I have no problem with the idea, it is the thoughtlessnesst that went into the implementation.

Huge typo, and S.C. citizen can’t get a CWP until he or she is 21, that would make the first question make a lot more sense.
